Agriculture faces complex issues meeting food demand

June 9, 2011 -First it was the Conference Board of Canada report; now, it's a US study headed by DuPont that is forecasting significant challenges in meeting food demand during the next 39 years. By 2050, global food production will need to be 70 percent greater than today, a lofty, if not difficult goal, given higher demand, a larger population base and scarcer resources, including less arable land and water.  READ MORE
