Agriculture Canada wants feedback on new variety registration

Sept. 3, 2013, Ottawa, ON - Ottawa wants to modernize and streamline its registration system for crop varieties.
The federal government has proposed four new models aimed at reducing red tape.
Farmers, seed companies and other industry stakeholders are encouraged to submit their feedback on the options by the end of November.
Andrew Goldstein with Agriculture Canada says a refined policy proposal should be ready in early 2014.
