Differences of opinion, coupled with lively debate are what make us think harder
about solutions, examine advisory information more closely and, ultimately,
make more informed decisions to help in farm operations.
Nobody ever said we should always provide stories that give the same message,
or that one advisor should agree with all others or demand that everyone 'sing'
from the same 'song sheet'.
Following the receipt of their November issue, a couple of readers, who have
both been featured in Top Crop Manager on occasion, copied me on their
email debate about whether research deductions were valid: should we assume
all benefits from crop protectant products increase plant growth, or simply
assist in achieving yield potential?
My point is not to mention names, but to illustrate how their lively debate,
with some agreements as well as the contrary, is a good thing. We should all
question whether the information presented will work in each field, each situation.
Only then is it worthwhile!
