Report released on the effects of climate change on agriculture
A report entitled "The Effects of Climate Change on Agriculture, Land Resources, Water Resources and Biodiversity in the United States" was released today by the U.S. Climate Change Science Program. Among other findings, the report predicts that grain and oilseed crops will mature more rapidly and the risk of crop failures will be higher.

Wheat producers can now check this year's threat of Fusarium Head Blight using a new model developed by Weather Innovations Incorporated (WIN). Drastic cuts to grain commission will hurt farmers
Cuts to Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) research, producer protection and grain quality programs will negatively impact farmers, says the National Farmers Union. On May 15, the federal government announced that it would cut CGC producer protection programs by 67 percent, grain quality programs by almost 50 percent and research programs by 60 percent.
