2009 distrillers grains exports set new record

Feb. 17, 2010 -The US ethanol industry set a new mark for exports of dry distillers grains with solubles (DDGS) in 2009, with 5.64 million tonnes sold, with Mexico and Canada as its top customers. The value of the exports was nearly $1.0 billion and the volume was 24 percent higher than in 2008.   READ MORE



Total US tractor sales up in January

Feb. 17, 2010 -The Association of Equipment Manufacturers reports that sales of all tractors in the US for January 2010 were up 3.9 percent compared to January 2009. Two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive tractors were up 33.1 percent and 9.2 percent, respectively.      READ MORE

Group forecasts 40 percent drop in wheat prices with biotech seed

Feb. 15, 2010 -The introduction of genetically modified wheat could cause a substantial drop in wheat prices, including a 40 percent decrease for hard springs and 57 percent for durum, with reaction harshest from Europe, Japan and other Asian countries.  This is according to a report from the Western Organization of Resource Councils.       READ MORE
